Our Beliefs
Christ Lutheran Church believes that:
- Only one God exists and He reveals himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- The Bible is the Word of God and is without error. Humans wrote the Bible under inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
- God created all things.
- All humans since the fall of Adam are born sinful and are full of evil lusts because of original sin. Consequently, we cannot by nature possess true fear of God and true faith in God. Furthermore, we can do nothing to change this.
- Humans are reconciled to God only by the merit of Jesus Christ.
- Jesus Christ is God who became flesh for our salvation. He lived a perfect life but suffered as no mere man could suffer. He served as our ransom by being nailed to a cross and by dying on that cross for the sins of the entire world. His sacrificial death erased God’s wrath for our sins. All of this was done only out of loving kindness and mercy for us, His fallen creation, without any worthiness or merit on our part.
- On the third day, Jesus bodily rose from the dead, appeared to His disciples and others for forty days, and then ascended into heaven, where He now presently is living and reigning, ruling over all things.
- The Father and the Son send the Holy Spirit to give us faith in what Christ has done for us and to strengthen us in this faith.
- The Word of God, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper (see the "Communion" in right column) are the ways in which the God reveals Himself to us in order to create and sustain faith.
- Jesus Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Communion
Today as we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion we will receive the body and blood of our Savior. We also receive the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our faith. Since the Lord’s Supper is an expression of our common confession of the Christian faith, we ask that only those persons who are members of Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) or American Association of Lutheran Churches (AALC) congregations receive the sacrament. Those who would like more information about this doctrine or any other teaching of the Lutheran church are asked to speak with the pastor.
